First Friday Art Exhibit: Bob Levine

First Friday Monthly Art Installation with BierWax

This month’s First Friday exhibit features the photography of Bob Levine, a lifelong Brooklynite and Park Slope resident for 50 years.

Levine’s works naturally involve Brooklyn, especially the daily life in Park Slope, and natural elements in Prospect Park. Through events with the Good Neighbors of Park Slope, including bird walks and tours, plus his volunteer work at the Old Stone House and within Prospect Park, and his journeys through Greenwood Cemetery, you get the sense of what Brooklyn is like to an insider.

Outside of Brooklyn, Bob and his family travel nearly annually to a small island off New Hampshire’s tiny coastline called Star Island. Look here for photos of the sunsets and scenes from the island. The final set of photos on view continue to explore his interest in nature, and travel with his (retired) National Park Ranger sister.

Levine’s photograph will be on display through July. For the First Friday opening party, we’ll have DJ Minister Maestro courtesy of BierWax spinning tunes. Come take in the art and music on the waterfront!
