Seasonal Bartender 

Reports To: Lead Bartender / Taproom Manager 

Role Summary 

The Seasonal Bartender supports Strong Rope Brewery’s taproom operations during peak periods, special events, and high-volume seasons. This role focuses on delivering excellent guest service and beer quality while learning and upholding Strong Rope Brewery’s 4 Ps Philosophy: People, Planet, Pint, and Profit. 

Seasonal Bartenders are expected to quickly learn service standards and contribute positively to team culture during their term of employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

People (Guest Service & Team Support) 

  • Provide friendly, efficient service to guests during high-volume shifts.

  • Work collaboratively with bartenders, leads, and management.

  • Follow direction and feedback from Lead Bartenders and the Taproom Manager.

  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude in fast-paced environments. 

Pint (Service Execution)

  • Pour and serve beer to Strong Rope Brewery standards after training.

  • Learn core beer offerings and basic brewery information. 

  • Maintain cleanliness of bar, glassware, and guest areas. 

  • Support events, festivals, and special programming.

Planet (Responsible Operations)

  • Follow sustainability, recycling, and waste-reduction practices.

  • Support clean, organized, and efficient bar operations. 

Profit (Efficiency & Accuracy) 

  • Operate POS accurately after training. 

  • Support fast, efficient service during peak times. 

  • Minimize waste through careful handling and adherence to procedures. 

Systems, Compliance, & Safety 

  • Comply with all New York SLA regulations and company policies.

  • Check IDs and serve alcohol responsibly.

  • Follow safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. 

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality experience a plus, but not required. 

  • Willingness to learn beer knowledge and service standards quickly. 

  • Strong work ethic and reliability. 

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. 

  • Valid New York State Alcohol Training Certification (or ability to obtain).

Working Conditions

  • Variable schedule but must be available nights and weekends for approximately 8-16/hrs per week.

  • Season April-October.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day).

  • Capable of safely lifting heavy materials and full kegs repeatedly.

Compensation

  • $13.50/hr + tips ($17/hr guaranteed).

  • Vacation/personal/sick days: Earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours per year.
